good Cinemascope western from Fox Archive
This is a good standard western, one of the few films Don Murray made for Fox. This release is in Cinsmascope 2.35 ratio and not pan and scan as indicated on this site. Good transfer from Fox Archive - and not 1.33.
Law and Order
One of the last great old westerns. Fine acting in the whole cast. It really takes you back to the myth that was the old west. Gun slingers and the law.
excellent Western movie
The DVD From Hell to Texas is a resurrection of another Don Murray movie (Bus Stop - M Monroe, These Thousand Hills). If you like Westerns you will like this one, and it includes reflections of what makes people good - and what makes them bad. Strong cast, sets, scoring, and loaded with Western flavor and Winchester gunman-ship. Thanks to Henry Hathaway, this movie shares locations (Lone Tree, California) with True Grit (J Wayne), North to Alaska, and Shoot Out (G Peck). The movie is five stars plus, but Warner Bros gets one star for releasing it in "little box." Most of us didn't get large digital televisions to watch a little box a fraction the size of the screen.
